Tristan

ACA Counsellor

Tristan is an ACA counsellor with experience supporting children, young people and adults across mental health, disability and addiction recovery settings. He provides an inclusive, respectful and non-judgmental space where each person can feel heard, understood and supported.

Tristan uses a person-centred and strengths-based approach, drawing on evidence-informed strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused practice, emotional regulation strategies and psychoeducation.

His areas of experience include anxiety, emotional regulation, confidence, communication, social connection, life transitions, addiction recovery and personal development. Tristan works collaboratively with each client, adapting his approach to their individual needs, goals, communication style and lived experience.

Tristan also offers faith-sensitive counselling for clients who wish to explore the connection between their faith, spirituality, personal values, identity or sense of meaning and their wellbeing. This support is always client-led and respectful of all religious, spiritual, cultural and non-religious perspectives.

Tristan believes counselling should be genuine, practical and empowering. He supports clients to recognise their strengths, better understand their thoughts and emotions, and develop practical skills that contribute to meaningful and sustainable change.
